Haiiiii~
For the past few years I’ve been classified as a “goth” based on what I wear, how I act, how I speak, my hobbies, and the music that I like, so i am just using the word gothic to describe my style, I am NOT trying to sound like a poseur or something ridiculous. I usually shop at hot topic, vintage stores, or I make my own clothes. I’m starting at a new highschool in 4 days for grade 11 (im starting at a new performing arts school.) Oh and also hair/makeup tips would be appreciated..? Just a brief description of my normal hair: I straighten it every day, tease the roots a bit. My side swept bangs hang infront of my eye. My hair’s dark blonde and i have a dark, dark purple streak in my bangs. Thanks in advance! Help’s greatly appreciated :D :3

That’s a very attractive outfit and still looks pretty goth in my opinion.
For your make up I’d wear smokey eyeliner and mascara and a bit of purple-ish lip gloss.
you shouldn’t go “over the top” on the first day at a new school. i would suggest wearing a black tank top or tee depending on the temperature, cami of any color underneath the top, dark skinny jeans, studded belt, and a chain. apply black eyeliner or eyeshadow, maybe both. do your hair like you normally would. you’ll look great!

Gah, i’m sick of the “people call me goth” wannabes. First off all, if you are goth, have the guts to say so and stop the whole “people call me” crap. If you really were goth, why would you classify yourself by what others call you if ‘you’ won’t call yourself that. Think about it.
Next… while vintage stores and making your own clothes is cool… hot topic is not goth. Why do you need hair, make up and clothing tips, if you are in grade 11? Shouldn’t you be old enough and have been goth long enough to know how to dress by now? This makes me think you just woke up one day during the summer and decided to go goth this year for school. After all you said you make your own clothes? Shouldn’t you have enough creativity to know what to wear, or to dress in one of your home made creations? Makes me think this was just a lie too.
Next the way you described your current hair style was just over the top EMO.
So please know the difference because the ‘people who call you’ goth clearly don’t.
